Crosby, Oscar

Oscar Crosby arrived in the Salt Lake Valley on July 22, 1847, as a member of the advance party of Latter-day Saint pioneers. He was enslaved at the time to Sarah Harmon and William Crosby, but after he gained his freedom he chose Smith as his surname.  At Century of Black Mormons, we honor that choice by directing you to his full biography under the name of Oscar Smith.
