- Printed in New York by Russell’s American Steam Printing House and sent to Salt Lake City in 1868, the Deseret First Book was the first volume to be printed in the Deseret Alphabet. The Deseret First Book contained thirty-six pages. Ten thousand copies were printed, selling at fifteen cents each.
