- In 1859, Brigham Young sent missionaries to record the Hopi language using the Deseret Alphabet. A vocabulary compiled by Marion Jackson Shelton was later rediscovered and decoded. This 2014 volume from University of Utah Press reproduces its 486 entries with modern Hopi and English translations.
