Fog 'Cleanest Ever', Deseret News, December 1954 This Salt Lake City air pollution control unit was set up in the front of the Deseret News and Telegram offices Thursday by John G. Oglesby to determine the amount of smoke and gases in the fog which blanketed the Salt Lake area. The antenna on the car determines wind velocity and direction and the tripod instrument measures the amounts of gases and acid in the air.
