One nutrient to rule life

Item

Title
One nutrient to rule life
Description
Sugar is the fuel our cells use to make energy and build proteins, DNA, and fats. Cells with misregulated sugar metabolism that glow green (carrying the MPC gene) grow strikingly smaller than nearby normal cells in the same tissue. This observation led us to ask how the nutrients we eat influence different cells in our body and control their growth.
