Woman with guestbook, Carbon Power Plant, Castle Gate, Utah Scan of a negative of a woman holding the guest book for an open house of the Carbon Plant with the plant in the background. The Carbon Power Plant was commissioned in 1954 after Unit 1 was built into the side of a 100-foot rock formation. Unit 2 was added in 1956. They produce 172 megawatts of electricity. There were at least four open houses or tours of the plant following milestones in its construction and development. This photo may date from the open house of June 20, 1958.
