Improving as a Society
This page is dedicated to all the improvements we can make as a society from resource centers, inclusivity, to sustainability. Throughout time, women and other minorities have been looked over, but when looking at our timeline, we have made many improvements. The goal of this page is to spark action and recognition in people to make further positive change for all people who may feel like they don't belong.
Take a look at the women showcased in this website to see how they feel we should currently improve.
Dr. Kristina Feldman on responding to the closure of the Womens’ and LGBTQ+ resource centers at the University of Utah:
"It's just super upsetting. It makes me almost teary eyed because I just–I'm so terrified for people who don't have that outlet anymore. I'm like, where can those people go? Small support systems can make a huge difference in someone's life, and so I think it's a huge problem."
On supporting and providing resources to neurodivergent individuals:
"I think that neurodivergent people have so much potential to make advances in research and education, all these different areas, and we really need to foster that. The supports that people need are often so minimal, it's just little bits of flexibility here and there. We [could] push the university so much f[u]rther if those people were included in everything, right? But again, the supports that neurodivergent people need are often so minimal and often beneficial to every other student too."
