Well, the companies
can't very well give you an honest
assay, and pay you everything
when they can only recover
half themselves. I see their point
on this, and to some extent
it may have happened
on the reservation. They managed
to beat the Tribal Council out
of a good share of their royalty
on at least one
large body of ore I know of.
Still, they've done the same thing
to us White people.
We all knew it. We know
contractors were only getting
half of what was in our ore,
but we agreed
most of us
were still profiting off it.
